At Dorothea Rescue Centre, our Rescue Program is a carefully planned and child-centered process designed to ensure the safety, protection, and long-term wellbeing of every girl we receive.
🔍 Identification & Street Outreach
Our trained social workers conduct regular street visits and community outreach to identify vulnerable girls living in unsafe conditions. These visits are done consistently to build trust, understand each child’s situation, and confirm the need for intervention.
🤝 Collaboration with Authorities
Before any rescue is carried out, our team works closely with Children’s Officers in the respective areas. This ensures that every case is handled legally, ethically, and in the best interest of the child.
đź“„ Legal Documentation
To protect the rights of each child, the following steps are completed:
- Occurrence Book (OB) report is filed at the nearest police station
- Court committal orders are obtained through the Children’s Court
- All documentation ensures the child is officially placed under safe care
This process guarantees that every rescue is lawful, transparent, and accountable.
đźš‘ Safe Rescue Process
Once all procedures are completed, the child is safely rescued and transported to Dorothea Rescue Centre. The girls we receive are typically between the ages of 6–11 years, a critical stage where care and guidance are essential.
đź’– Reception & Immediate Care
Upon arrival at the centre, each girl is warmly welcomed into a safe and nurturing environment. She is provided with:
- Clean clothing and personal items
- Nutritious meals

- Emotional support and reassurance
