Currently, the Centre is engaged in a poultry project where it rears 1,000 birds producing approximately 1,000 eggs daily. This initiative has become a strong income-generating activity that supports the Centre’s sustainability.
The poultry project is profitable and plays a key role in supporting the education, care, and overall welfare of the rescued girls. It also helps reduce operational costs while ensuring continuous provision of food and essential needs.
Through this initiative, Dorothea Rescue Centre is strengthening its ability to care for rescued girls while building a sustainable model that benefits both the children and the wider community.
